Selva-Dhanush-Yuvan Combo Come back in 'Irandaam Ulagam’ movie
Some good news for music lovers and cinema goers: the irrepressible combo of director Selvaraghavan, his younger sibling and actor Dhanush and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, who shined in films like ‘Kaadhal Kondein’ and ‘Puduppettai’, is back as Selvaa and Yuvan have patched up recently and vowed to work together.
The hit combination would once again hope to weave the same old magic for the benefit of lovers of good cinema. Selva fell out with Yuvan during the early stages of the making of his magnum opus ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and later signed up G.V. Prakash as the music director in place of the latter. The film, which released in the early part of 2010 and didn’t fare well at the box-office, sourly missed Yuvan’s catchy numbers.
After ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, Selvaa launched a thriller film starring Vikram and Swathi (of ‘Subramaniapuram’ fame) in the lead. He shot an extended first schedule of the film in the hilly region of Ladakh. The film, produced by Ramesh Babu, ran into rough weather soon due to lack of finance as a result of which Selvaa abandoned the film.
Selva then launched a bilingual period film in Tamil and Telugu, which was to star Rana Daggubati (upcoming Tollywood hero) in the lead role in both the versions. Financial problems forced the abandoning of this film too, forcing Selvaa to go back to his earlier stalled project ‘Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’ starring Dhanush in the lead. The film’s title has now been changed to ‘Irandaam Ulagam’ and would star singer-actress Andrea Jermaiah opposite Dhanush in the film.
G.V. Prakash was to score the music of the film and has now given place to Yuvan Shankar Raja, Selva’s favourite.
